Collage?

I know what you're thinking, collage is the kind of art school children make by cutting up magazines. I used to think exactly the same thing until I saw other artists using it in different ways.

The collages I make began with ripped up paper I painted with watercolours and Brusho, but my style is developing to include other materials such as dried plants, old maps, and that annoying scrunched up brown paper so many places use in packaging.

As someone who doesn't feel confident in their illustration and composition skills, I've found this to be a really satisfying medium to work in.

I work at quite a small size - the collages pictured are set in frames a touch bigger than A5 - but it can be easily scaled up for those that prefer working bigger.

Workshops

I'm very keen to offer workshops in painted paper collage but don't have my own venue to do this from. If you are interested in a workshop, or know of a venue looking for more workshops to run out of their space, please get in touch. I am based in Swindon but could easily travel to venues in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
